Head of AI Development
We are building AI-first products and are looking for a Head of AI Development who will establish an engineering culture within the company where the primary code writing is performed by AI, and the team focuses on architecture, solution quality, and the development of AI infrastructure.
What you will do
• Define and develop the technical strategy for the AI direction: architecture, tech stack, scaling of GenAI solutions, RAG systems, and agent systems.
• Build the company's AI infrastructure: pipelines for working with LLMs, a prompt engineering system, model quality monitoring, context and data management.
• Lead a team of AI-first engineers (backend, frontend, ML, DevOps), for whom the main work is reviewing and orchestrating AI-generated code, not manual coding.
• Establish processes: code review for AI-generated code, quality standards, security requirements, experimentation practices, and A/B testing.
• Interact with founders and the product team: help formulate tasks for GenAI, identify points of maximum business impact, assess impact and risks.
• Be responsible for moving pilots to production: from concept and prototype to stable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Select and implement tools (LLM providers, vector databases, MLOps platforms, tools for AI observability and quality).
What we expect
• Experience in building and/or developing AI solutions: GenAI, LLM, RAG, agent systems, ML products.
• Deep understanding of modern LLM stacks (OpenAI, Anthropic, local models, open-source), vector databases, RAG architectures, MLOps approaches.
• Experience managing engineers (5-7 people): hiring, development, implementation of engineering standards and processes.
• Ability to work in the AI-first paradigm: seeing where AI replaces developers' manual labor and where a human is needed; building processes around AI tools.
• Sufficient technical depth to conduct architectural reviews, make technological decisions, and speak the same language as strong engineers.
