Python Developer for Robot Management Service

The robotics division at Yandex is relatively new, but we have already put more than three types of robots into operation in warehouses, have many successful external launches, and there are new interesting projects ahead of us.

We are looking for a Python developer to join the robot management service. Our team is engaged in:

• modeling robot movement in the warehouse;
• distributing tasks among numerous robots;
• tracking the status of completed tasks;
• developing the business logic for robot operations;
• collecting information from all devices in the warehouse and using it for business.

What tasks await you

Creating a platform for managing robots Are you wondering what a platform is? It's very simple: it's the brain and center of the ecosystem that determines which robot is best suited for a particular task. The platform distributes and tracks all completed operations, collects results, analyzes them, and notifies about possible problems.

Integrating robots into real business processes You will be responsible for implementing robots and building a flexible system that allows for easy integration and modification of robot business logic on the fly. You will work on complex algorithms for distributing tasks among robots. You will closely collaborate with colleagues who develop hardware to understand all the nuances of robotics. Additionally, you will need to automate business processes for handling non-standard situations to increase the stability and reliability of our products.

Infrastructure tasks Importantly, our solution must be sold to external users, so we also have the goal of making the application easy to deploy both as a SaaS solution and on-premise. You will also dive into the infrastructure products of the larger Yandex and find optimal ways to solve problems for the benefit of robotics.

We expect you to

• Be proficient in Python
• Know classic algorithms and data structures
• Be ready to take responsibility
