FATdrop is looking for an experienced freelance marketer to help us grow the platform’s user base of record labels, music PR companies and professional DJs.

We’re looking for somebody who understands the music industry. You should know how labels, PR companies, DJs and promo campaigns fit together, be aware of the key players and comfortable talking to people in the industry.

We are looking for a creative, strategic self-starter to work directly with us to test different approaches, figure out what works, and then get stuck into implementing those strategies.

What you'll be doing

The work will be varied and could include:

• planning and running marketing campaigns
• email, online and product marketing
• analysing campaign performance and figuring out what to improve
• identifying potential record label and PR customers
• direct outreach by email and phone
• working on messaging, positioning and ideas for growing the platform

We already have an established product, website, mailing lists, social channels, analytics and marketing infrastructure, so there is plenty to work with.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who understands the landscape. You might have worked in marketing, promotions, PR, labels, music technology or another part of the industry. Your exact background matters less than having a strong understanding of how the business works and who we're trying to reach.

You should be:

• experienced and able to work independently and craft appropriate strategies
• commercially minded and focused on results
• comfortable taking a lean, iterative approach, measuring results and adapting based on learnings
• comfortable with both creative marketing and straightforward sales outreach
• confident contacting people you don't already know
• organised and able to manage your own time

The practical stuff

This is a freelance role, initially as a 3-month project, with the potential to extend.

The role is remote and we're open to applications from people based across the UK and Europe. Berlin would be a bonus, but isn't essential.

We have an initial budget of €2,000 per month and are ideally looking for someone who can become a regular part of the team, working with us around two days per week.

When applying, please let us know your usual rate, how much time you could commit within this budget, and what you think would be realistic to achieve with that time.

When applying, please tell us:

• a little about your relevant experience, particularly within music, music technology, or adjacent industries
• what you’ve worked on previously, with links or examples where relevant
• your hourly or day rate / approximately how many hours per month you could commit
• what you would prioritise in your first month working with FATdrop - including the practical things you would want to do, test, create, or put in place
• how you would see the role developing over the first three months if the initial work goes well

We’ll appoint as soon as we find the right person, so there’s no fixed closing date. If this sounds like a good fit, please don’t wait to apply.
