Yandex Travel is a service that helps plan a trip in a few minutes. With its help, you can select tickets, a hotel or apartment, read reviews, and pay for everything with a card. Our team, the Traveler Happiness Development team, works to make the hotel booking portal and application as user-friendly as possible.

We are involved in several areas:

• Developing new features and improving existing ones (search, sorting, filters, ranking, reviews, booking, promo codes)
• Increasing user and hotelier loyalty
• Improving tools for attracting traffic

In our work, we deal with both long-standing services and greenfield development.

One of our product tasks is to accompany the user on their trip. After they book a hotel or buy a ticket, we provide them with useful information: we tell them about the city or country where the trip will take place, provide weather forecasts, offer excursions, audio guides, tickets to concerts and festivals, and much more. Thanks to this, the user can conveniently plan their trip in one place.

We are now expanding this functionality: connecting new partners and adding useful and interesting content to the trip. As a backend team, we solve serious technical challenges:

• Integrating with external partners and other Yandex services
• Building a process for processing and storing partner inventory
• Implementing complex business logic based on the received data

We work with the following technology stack: Java, Kotlin, Spring, PostgreSQL, gRPC, Hibernate, YT, YDB, HTTP, as well as Golang, C++, JOOQ, and others.
