Billing is Yandex's internal service that helps solve financial tasks for many of the company's products. We help transfer the order payment from the buyer to the seller, tips from the passenger to the taxi driver, verify the correctness of each transaction, calculate commissions and service fees, provide detailed statements to partners, audit reports, and much more.

Our goal is to make financial accounting for Yandex services easy to connect, fast and reliable in operation, and transparent in results. Our team develops a billing platform that allows flexible configuration of transaction processing to meet any business requirements. Our services process millions of events every day, generate thousands of reports, and are available 99.99% of the time.

We write in Python and Go, store data in PostgreSQL, YDB, and YTsaurus, love creating microservices, and enjoy debating proper architecture.

What tasks await you

Creating and optimizing technical solutions for the financial platform You will be responsible for launching new microservices, improving their level of fault tolerance, reliability, and performance.

Developing new product features and enhancing existing ones to solve business problems You will solve complex technical tasks to scale and develop a distributed, high-load service.

Participating in architecture design You will need to write the backend for financial service microservices, develop infrastructure, development tools, and processes.

We expect you to

• Have good command of Python or Go
• Have worked with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or ClickHouse DBMS and complex SQL queries
• Be very responsible and meticulous in approaching tasks
• Know how to build distributed systems
• Know how to apply DevOps practices

It will be a plus if you

• Have launched high-load systems
• Have worked with big data
• Have developed financial systems
• Have built ETL processes
• Have designed REST APIs
• Are familiar with the MapReduce concept
