Senior Data Scientist (Recommendations Team)

We are looking for a data scientist with experience in text tasks, recommendation, or search systems. If you have a good grasp of mathematics, enjoy delving into large datasets, finding patterns within them, and know how to implement your solutions in production, then we would be happy to have you join our company.

We develop ML models for search ranking and recommendations, which help people across the country find jobs. Our main goal is the quantitative growth of product metrics, such as the number of responses/invitations. All hypotheses are strictly verified using A/B experiments. Our solutions operate in real-time under heavy load on a search cluster of 100+ machines. We work in cross-functional product teams (frontend/backend/data science) using agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Experience in implementing and applying machine learning models in production;
• Understanding of core Machine Learning methods and algorithms;
• Knowledge of the principles of neural network models for text processing;
• Experience in ranking, recommendations, as well as NLP tasks will be a big plus;
• Proficient in Python (numpy, scipy, pytorch, sklearn), knowledge and experience with Java are welcome;
• Algorithmic preparation: knowledge of basic algorithms and data structures;
• Desirable experience working with various data sources: SQL, Cassandra, Hive, Presto, Kafka, etc.;
• Understanding and experience with A/B experiments;

Responsibilities

• Development of search ranking models and recommendation systems;
• Tuning existing models, feature engineering, as well as building new solutions from scratch;
• Prototyping and bringing solutions to production using Python;
• Full support of own models: from writing a query to extract a training dataset from data warehouses to analyzing A/B experiment results and switching all users to new functionality;
