Game Designer with 1+ year of experience (Actively hiring)

We are looking for game designers at Next Genium. Those who are interested in this field and have relevant experience in general game design or balance.

We are a small studio making story-driven PC games. No producers above, no approvals across three departments, no "let's redo everything from scratch just for the sake of an experiment."

We simply gather (online), come up with ideas, create, and release. Right now, we are looking for one more person for our team who loves games and knows how to design them.

Sufficient skills include:

• coming up with a mechanic without breaking the entire game with it;
• sketching a level layout so the level designer has something to work with;
• testing a build and saying: "this is lagging here, this is boring, let's fix it";
• writing a couple of lines of dialogue if the narrative designer is swamped;
• creating a task in the tracker that can be understood from the first read.

If you have done any of this in commercial projects, that's already great.

What you will be doing Everything a game designer typically does in a small studio:

• taking ideas from your head into documents, and from documents into the build;
• polishing the project together with everyone else to a state where "we are not ashamed to show it";
• arguing until you're hoarse, and then going for coffee and coming up with something cooler;
• sometimes cursing at a build that crashed for no reason;
• enjoying it when a mechanic suddenly comes alive and you just want to play it.

It is mandatory to have relevant experience and interest in working as a game designer. Game designers with experience working on Unreal Engine and Godot game engines are especially valued. Knowledge of English will give you a serious advantage during consideration.

Salary from 50,000 rubles to 100,000 rubles depending on performance.
