Principal Product Designer
We are looking for a product designer who can shape the product vision and independently lead complex product tasks. In this role, you will need to explore new opportunities, design the target state of the user experience over a 1-3 year horizon, and then translate it into verifiable scenarios, hypotheses, and concepts.
The designer clarifies the brief, designs scenarios and solution architecture, gathers options, and mitigates key risks through prototypes, research, and data.
What will you be doing?
- Shaping the product vision and target user experience state over a 1-3 year horizon.
- Exploring new product opportunities through research, data, hypotheses, and conceptual design.
- Aligning user value, product metrics, brand, business goals, and technical constraints into a unified solution framework.
- Translating vague product problems into a clear framework: users, tasks, constraints, risks, hypotheses, and selection criteria.
- Leading complex and end-to-end scenarios, including edge cases, conflicts, partial success, recovery, and other critical situations.
- Designing the solution architecture and user experience coherence at the level of a large scenario or product part.
- Creating multiple solution directions, comparing them against criteria, and helping the team make informed choices.
- Assembling prototypes of the required fidelity, conducting validation with researchers, and reducing key risks before full-scale implementation.
- Maintaining a high level of interface design: composition, hierarchy, density, states, and product character.
- Collaborating with product managers, developers, analysts, researchers, product leads, brand, and the design system.
- Influencing the brief, priorities, and scope of work, while maintaining focus on user and product impact.
- Preparing the solution for handover to the product team: documenting principles, scenarios, risks, open questions, and adaptation boundaries.
- Supporting the team during key implementation stages to ensure the concept retains user value and system integrity.
- Conducting reviews and sharing practices with other designers without formal people management.
What we expect?
- Senior level of product design, confirmed by the scope of responsibility; target is around 5 years of experience, but the complexity and results of cases remain decisive.
- Experience in independently leading a large scenario, redesign, or significant part of a consumer digital product.
- Experience in shaping a product vision or target state that has influenced strategy, priorities, or roadmap.
- Strategic product thinking: the ability to see not only the immediate release but also the future of the product over a 1-3 year horizon.
- Systems thinking: the ability to connect business goals, user needs, brand, and technical constraints.
- Strong user experience design skills: architecture, scenario coherence, states, edge cases, and prototyping.
- Strong interface design and the ability to develop existing patterns without losing integrity.
- Product approach: ability to redefine the task, choose success criteria, work with research and data, validate new opportunities, and iteratively improve solutions.
- Ability to systematically reduce uncertainty, independently choose direction, and make decisions with incomplete context.
- Partnership with product managers and development teams; ability to influence the brief and priorities.
- Persuasive communication: clearly explaining solutions, facilitating complex discussions, and making working compromises.
- Leadership without formal authority: initiative, reviews, coordination, and helping other designers.
- Readiness to be responsible not only for the concept but also for the quality of its handover and the path to implementation.
Will be an advantage:
- Experience with mass mobile B2C products and a broad, heterogeneous audience.
- Participation in an application redesign or restructuring of several related scenarios.
- Work with maps, search, recommendations, city services, e-commerce, or other contextually complex products.
- Experience at the intersection of product, brand, and communications.
- Developing a design system through new patterns and application rules.
- Reusable AI scenarios for analysis, research, prototyping, and solution validation with quality and data control.
