Greenplum DBMS Administrator (DBA)

☑️ What you will do
- Administration and support of Greenplum DBMS.
- Performing tasks on configuration, optimization, and performance diagnostics of the DBMS.
- Deployment of new Greenplum servers and segments.
- Configuration of fault-tolerant configurations and replication mechanisms.
- Setup and control of backup processes, verification of data recovery correctness.
- Setup and development of DBMS monitoring using Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Participation in working groups for investigation and resolution of complex incidents together with the DBA team.
- Performing tasks on updating DBMS versions and patch management.
- Development and automation of administration tasks using Ansible and Bash.
- Configuration of PXF and gpfdist, ensuring Greenplum interaction with external data sources.
- Development of internal expertise in Greenplum support and participation in knowledge transfer from an external contractor.
- Maintaining technical documentation and interaction with Greenplum and PostgreSQL technical support.
- Support of PostgreSQL as a backup administrator for specific systems.
☑️ Our requirements for candidates
- At least 1 year of experience with Greenplum.
- Understanding of Greenplum architecture and MPP system principles.
- Solid Linux knowledge at an administrator level.
- Experience in analyzing and optimizing DBMS performance.
- Proficient in SQL, ability to analyze query execution plans.
- Skills in reading logs and diagnosing DBMS problems.
- Understanding of backup and data recovery principles.
- Will be a plus:
- Experience in PostgreSQL support.
- Experience with Ansible and Bash.
- Experience in setting up monitoring (Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience with PXF and gpfdist.
- Experience in updating DBMS versions and performing patch management.
