Team Lead for the Safe Search Group

We are looking for a team lead to join the team that makes Search safe and interesting for people of all ages: we ensure that unwanted content does not appear in search results. The team uses a wide stack of ML tools — from boosting to neural networks and VLM. We do not engage in abstract research, but actually change the product and manage projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for leading the team and participating in product development.

What tasks await you

Problem Formulation You will digitize problems, turning them into offline and online metrics to monitor how the algorithms being developed help solve these problems. Developing and validating such metrics are crucial steps toward achieving product goals.

Development of Instructions and Labeling You will create instructions and check their relevance for crowdsourcing, as well as develop hybrid labeling pipelines using CV models, LLMs, and VLMs.

Model Training and Deployment You will train LLM, VLM, and CatBoost models and deploy them into the search runtime. You will also develop data preparation processes for their retraining, apply models to change search ranking, and conduct A/B experiments.
