Software and Hardware Complex Test Engineer

Location: Moscow Format: strictly office, 5/2 Salary range: 160,000 – 200,000 RUB net Employment: full-time Company: КА Star-Staff We are looking for a Software and Hardware Complex Test Engineer who loves working at the intersection of software and hardware, can assemble test benches manually, and wants to grow in test automation. We are an accredited IT company developing advanced software and hardware complexes for security systems, smart monitoring, access control systems (ACS), and video surveillance.

🚀 Responsibilities: Assembly and support of test benches: installation, connection of equipment (ACS controllers, IP cameras), setup of test PCs (Windows/Linux), and local area network (LAN) configuration. Analysis of requirements and test design: studying documentation for software and system architecture, developing test scenarios (test cases) for complex components. Testing: daily manual and semi-automated execution of tests for fresh software builds and installers. Bug Tracking: recording and detailed description of found defects in a bug tracking system, problem localization (distinguishing between "software bug" and "hardware failure"). Load emulation: writing automation scripts and selecting equipment for load testing of monitoring systems.

🎯 Candidate expectations:

• Experience in software/hardware testing of 1.5–2 years.
• Confident knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems (setup, console work, log reading).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python / Bash) for automating routine tasks.
• Understanding of digital electronics principles and communication interfaces.
• Basic knowledge of network technologies (OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, traffic analysis in Wireshark).
• Will be a big plus: knowledge of C/C++ programming language (at the level of reading code and understanding microcontroller firmware logic).
• Experience with ACS, video surveillance systems (CCTV, RTSP, ONVIF), or alarm systems (APS) will be your key advantage.
