Help build what comes after social media.
Most platforms monetize attention.
We want to monetize real-world participation.
We believe the next generation of consumer platforms won’t compete for more screen time.
They’ll compete for more life outside the screen.
That’s why we’re building 7Pi.
An entirely new category we call Active Media.
Instead of rewarding people for watching, scrolling and consuming content, we’re creating a platform where creators, athletes and brands inspire people to actually go outside, move, meet, compete and participate in real life.
Social Media created the Attention Economy.
We believe the next decade belongs to the Participation Economy.
And now we’re looking for the technical leader who can help us build it.
About 7Pi
7Pi is building the world’s first Active Media Platform.
Think of us as an additional layer on top of social media — not another feed.
Creators continue publishing on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
But the real value happens off-screen.
We transform audiences into participants through real-world challenges, measurable action and verified participation.
Less scrolling.
More movement.
More human connection.
More real memories.
We’re currently preparing our first live pilots with creators, athletes and brands.
We’ve just closed our first angel round ($7M post-money valuation), and we’re already seeing strong interest for our upcoming pre-seed round.
Now we want to build the technical foundation for what comes next.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for our first CTO.
Not someone to simply manage an engineering team.
Someone who wants to help architect and build a consumer platform from 0 → 1, and eventually from 1 → millions of users.
Product and design are already covered.
What we need now is a technical leader who can work closely with the founder and product team to turn the vision into a scalable technology platform.
Someone who can make the right architectural decisions today without overengineering for tomorrow.
Someone who can still get their hands dirty.
And someone who, when the time comes, can build and lead a world-class engineering organization around them.
Initially, this will be a lightweight retainer / part-time engagement.
As we move through pilots and toward our pre-seed round, our goal is for this to grow into a long-term CTO leadership role.
What you’ll own
Who we’re looking for
You’re probably a strong fit if you’ve helped build large-scale consumer technology products.
Ideally, you’ve already seen what happens when a product grows from thousands to hundreds of thousands — or millions — of users.
You understand the difference between architecture that looks good on a whiteboard and architecture that actually survives scale.
We’re especially interested in people with experience from companies or products such as:
Meta / Instagram / TikTok / Snapchat / YouTube / Spotify / Airbnb / Strava / Discord / Reddit / Duolingo / Pinterest
You don’t need experience in sports.
You do need experience building technology that people use at scale.
What matters most
We care more about technical judgment and systems thinking than titles or frameworks.
You should have:
Experience with social platforms, creator platforms, marketplaces, consumer apps or products with strong network effects is a major plus.
The kind of CTO we want
You don’t need a 50-person engineering team to start building.
You don’t need perfect requirements before making decisions.
You don’t automatically reach for the most complicated architecture.
You know what needs to be built properly from day one — and what can wait.
You can zoom out and think about a system serving millions of people.
And then zoom back in and solve the problem sitting in front of us today.
We’re looking for someone who can be both architect and builder now, and technical leader later.
Mission fit matters
This role isn’t for everyone.
We believe endless scrolling is one of the biggest behavioral challenges of our generation.
We don’t believe the solution is another screen-time tracker or productivity app.
We believe people need a product that’s simply more fun than staying on the couch.
A platform that makes going outside socially rewarding.
That makes movement viral.
That makes real life worth sharing again.
If your biggest motivation is maintaining mature systems inside a large organization, this probably isn’t the right role.
If the idea of taking everything you’ve learned at scale and using it to build something completely new from the beginning sounds exciting, we’d love to meet you.
Why join now?
We’re not trying to build the next social media platform.
We’re trying to build what comes after it.
