Sber is looking for a Director of International Business Development Projects.
The team is implementing the strategy for launching a new banking product (focused on attracting liabilities/deposits) into the Indian market.
Responsibilities:
- Launch and development of the product in a foreign market
- Conducting a comprehensive analysis of the foreign market: competitive environment, demand for banking products, pricing parameters, cultural and business specifics
- Identifying entry barriers (regulatory, tax, infrastructural) and proposing ways to eliminate them
- Building a roadmap with clear stages
- Stakeholder management: interactions with RBI (consultations), local IT vendors
- Budgeting and ROI: calculating the cost of product launch, P&L forecast, justification of expenses
- Interactions with regulators or financial law consultants
Requirements:
- Higher education
- Experience launching a banking product from scratch
- Experience launching products into new international markets
- Work experience: at least 8–10 years in the banking sector, of which at least 3 years in leadership positions in project activities and/or product development
- Proven cases of implementing projects in the banking sector with documented positive financial results
- Understanding of trade finance mechanisms and products (real estate escrow accounts, personal letters of credit)
- Experience in structuring transactions considering international standards
- Knowledge of accounting specifics, risks, and collateral in cross-border transactions
- Experience conducting a comprehensive analysis of the foreign market: competitive environment, demand for banking products, pricing parameters, cultural and business specifics
- Ability to identify entry barriers (regulatory, tax, infrastructural) and propose ways to overcome them
- Skills in preparing business cases, roadmaps, and financial models.
- Experience in budgeting and ROI: calculating product launch costs, P&L forecast, justification of expenses
- Willingness to travel on business
- English language: fluent (C1–C2)
