AI Model Designer
About the Role
We are looking for an AI Model Designer who will serve as the connective tissue between our AI research and world-class design principles. In this unique role, you will help us "teach" our models how to be the best design partners. You will work across all our products to enhance the design capabilities of AI models and be responsible for the quality control of their evaluation.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate closely with AI Researchers to improve model performance from a design perspective.
- Develop and document design principles and heuristics to be used by our AI systems.
- Create rigorous methods for testing and improving the quality of AI-generated output.
- Oversee the quality of our design evaluations and provide feedback to external partners.
- Act as a bridge between the AI Research team and Designers: translating technical details into designer-friendly language and design concepts into AI-specialist language.
We’d Like to See
- Experience developing design heuristics and design principles.
- Experience leading design processes for a group of products or working on features that span multiple product lines.
- Experience using AI models for design tasks (whether they be models for code generation or image generation).
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects that require collaboration across different teams and organizational boundaries.
- Experience managing contractors and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- A strong design portfolio, excellent taste, and attention to detail.
It’s a Plus If You Have
- Experience building or evaluating AI-generated designs.
- An operational mindset and ability to improve processes.
- Technical understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they apply to design.
- Comfort with ambiguity — ability to turn open-ended challenges into clear goals.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
