A volunteer for a psychoneurological boarding school is needed for the interregional public organization of volunteers Volunteer Club.
Volunteer Club is a charitable organization that supports adult wards with profound intellectual disabilities, as well as orphaned children in orphanages.
Every Sunday, they visit residents of the "Obruchevsky" Social Home (formerly Psychoneurological Boarding School No. 20) to bring them joy and teach them useful skills through master classes and activities, and to become their friends.
Volunteer activities include:
- Visits to the "Obruchevsky" Social Home (formerly Psychoneurological Boarding School No. 20), communication and support for wards – adults with various mental illnesses and disabilities. Among the wards are people with Down syndrome and cerebral palsy, most of whom previously lived in specialized orphanages.
- Assistance in conducting master classes for wards: helping them sculpt with plasticine, color pictures, make crafts, play plastic bowling, etc.
- Assistance in preparing for inclusive performances (optional)
We would be glad to have a volunteer who has:
- A desire to help people in need of support
- Ability to work in a team
- Responsible approach
- Friendliness
Conditions:
- Volunteers do not receive a salary. All volunteer activities are based on voluntary assistance to the boarding school wards.
- Volunteers choose a Sunday that suits them and visit the PNI wards together with the team. Weekly participation is not expected from volunteers.
- All visits to the PNI are carried out with the Club team on Sundays from 9:50 AM to 2:00 PM. You may be asked to wear disposable masks at the facility.
- The boarding school is located near the Kaluzhskaya metro station.
To become a volunteer, you need to attend an Open Day:
- At the meeting, experienced volunteers will explain how visits to PNI wards take place, as well as trips to orphanages, how to behave with wards, and the rules of the "Volunteer Club".
