The Vera Hospice Charity Foundation invites Volunteers to join the team.
The Vera Hospice Charity Foundation helps adults and children with incurable diseases receive dignified palliative care, supports hospices in Moscow and other regions of Russia, and trains medical professionals and volunteers – people without whom quality care is impossible.
What kind of helpers are needed:
Hospice Volunteers: help patients with their daily tasks and create a homely atmosphere in hospices:
- Communicate, walk with active patients;
- Listen, hold hands, read to patients in serious condition;
- Help with feeding patients with limited mobility;
- Organize events and "Joy Carts" in hospices (filled with necessities and pleasantries: from food to hygiene products and gifts);
- Help with household chores (maintain cleanliness and order, decorate wards for holidays, care for plants and the garden);
- Care for animals living in hospices.
- Opening recruitment for alternative communication volunteers in long-term respiratory support departments (LRS). These are departments for patients who cannot move or speak. Some of these patients are fully conscious and need conversation partners using special technical means.
Professional Volunteers:
- Beauty Specialists – provide haircuts, hair coloring, makeup, and nail care for patients;
- Photo and Video Volunteers – cover events at hospices or the foundation, take patient portraits, shoot and edit videos;
- Design Volunteers – assist with the design and layout of printed materials, websites, applications, create infographics, and help with interior and landscape design;
- Auto Volunteers – assist with patient transportation and delivery of packages and cargo;
- Administrative Volunteers – perform a wide range of tasks from data processing and text editing to assisting at foundation events;
- Pet Therapy Volunteers – visit hospices with their pets.
