Description
We are looking for a Product Owner with a strong technical background, who will take on the development of our products based on Synapse Service Mesh. We need a person capable of combining product vision, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the technology stack (Istio, Kubernetes) to effectively manage a product already used by more than 100 teams in the bank. Development experience is welcomed, but the key is the ability to build a dialogue with technical specialists, developers, and architects, understand their needs, and translate them into requirements for the team.

Our team, together with SBT, is developing the Synapse Service Mesh product line. We create comprehensive solutions for managing integrations in the cloud, which simplify life for the bank's technical teams.
Responsibilities
Your tasks:
Product Strategy and Development:
- Analysis of the product's current state, identifying bottlenecks and growth points based on user feedback and metric analysis.
- Designing the product architecture and its usage scenarios in the bank: ensuring the solution meets customer needs, company standards, and technological trends.
- Solving technological tasks related to product rollout: addressing issues of scalability, compatibility with existing systems, simplifying implementation for new teams.
- Forming the product development roadmap.
- Seeking opportunities to expand the customer base and increase the product's value for existing teams.
Requirements and Backlog Management:
- Maintaining an open and transparent product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on value for the customer and business.
- Elaborating functional requirements, writing user stories and acceptance criteria together with the team.
- Participating in solution design at a conceptual level, ensuring the product architecture meets reliability, performance, and security requirements.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement:
- CustDev and Research: Regular communication with users (technical teams), conducting problem and solution interviews, surveys, gathering feedback, studying usage scenarios (KYC).
- Hypothesis Management: Formulating product development hypotheses, planning experiments to test them, and going through Discovery stages to find the best solutions.
- Interaction with stakeholders: Building effective communication with various departments (infrastructure, security, operations) to align solutions and manage expectations.
- Product Promotion: Conducting demo sessions, meetups, participating in internal conferences to increase product awareness and attract new teams.
Requirements
We expect you to have:
Hard Skills & Technical Background:
- Higher technical education (welcomed).
- Experience with Istio (Synapse Service Mesh), Kubernetes (DROPAPP).
- Experience with setting up monitoring, collecting metrics, and traces in a container environment.
- Understanding of the Enterprise software lifecycle and CI/CD principles.
Product Management & Soft Skills:

Experience in the role of Product Owner (preferably in infrastructure or platform products).

Systems thinking: Ability to see the product as a whole, define strategy, and form a roadmap.

Excellent communication skills: Ability to convey complex ideas to different audiences (from developers to top management).

Customer-centricity: Practical CustDev experience (problem/solution interviews, KYC), building CJM, working with feedback.

Analytical approach: Ability to formulate hypotheses and build plans to test them.

Proactivity, accountability for results, willingness to make independent decisions under uncertainty.

Skills in working with Jira, Confluence.
