Description
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager with a strong technical foundation, who will take charge of the development of our integration products based on event-driven architecture (EDA). We need a person capable of combining product vision, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the technology stack (Kafka, Kubernetes) to effectively manage a product already used by over 100 teams within the bank. Development experience is welcome, but the key is the ability to build dialogue with technical specialists, developers, and architects, understand their needs, and translate them into requirements for the team.
Our team is engaged in developing SBT products within the bank. We are responsible for the stability, continuous improvement, and scaling of solutions.

Our team, together with SBT, develops integration products based on event-driven architecture (EDA) for Sberbank. We create comprehensive solutions for managing and building integrations that simplify life for the bank's technical teams. Our products have already been chosen by over 100 internal teams — this is our main asset and area of responsibility. We are deeply immersed in user needs and strive to make products intuitive, reliable, and scalable.
Responsibilities
Your tasks:
Product Strategy and Development:
- analysis of the current state of the product, identification of bottlenecks and growth points based on user feedback and metric analysis
- elaboration of the product architecture and its usage scenarios within the bank: ensuring the solution meets customer needs, company standards, and technology trends
- solving technological tasks related to product deployment: addressing issues of scaling, compatibility with existing systems, simplifying implementation for new teams
- forming a product development roadmap
- searching for opportunities to expand the customer base and increase the product's value for existing teams
Working with requirements and backlog:
- maintaining an open and transparent product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on value for the customer and business
- elaborating functional requirements, writing user stories and acceptance criteria together with the team
- participating in solution design at a conceptual level, ensuring the product architecture meets reliability, performance, and security requirements
Working with Customers and Stakeholders:
- CustDev and research: Regular communication with users (technical teams), conducting problem and solution interviews, surveys, collecting feedback, studying usage scenarios (KYC)
- hypothesis management: Formulating product development hypotheses, planning experiments to test them, and going through Discovery stages to find the best solutions
- interaction with stakeholders: Building effective communication with various departments (infrastructure, security, operations) to align solutions and manage expectations
- product promotion: Conducting demo sessions, meetups, participating in internal conferences to increase product visibility and attract new teams.
Requirements
We expect you to have:
- higher technical education.
- deep understanding of the principles of building microservice architectures (including an awareness of the differences from Distributed Monolith) and knowledge of event-driven architecture (EDA) concepts
- knowledge of the Apache Kafka ecosystem (brokers, Kafka Connect, data schemas), experience in operating or developing solutions based on it
- experience with containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes, Istio — understanding of concepts and usage scenarios
- basic knowledge of Linux and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS).
- good understanding of the principles of developing secure and fault-tolerant systems
