SberData is responsible for developing the data platform within Sberbank. We manage over 230 Petabytes of data and about a hundred products and services for clients. We create our own platform builds as part of vendor substitution and actively collaborate with all Sberbank divisions to solve their business problems: our users have already created over 6,500 data marts. We are building the Bank's new-generation streaming data platform. Currently, the platform does not meet the high requirements for real-time data delivery and processing needed for AI agents, which require the most up-to-date data. The project involves teams from various divisions (business, technology, architecture) and external vendors.
You will be the sole PM of the project — the person who holds the entire picture in mind, synchronizes dozens of participants, and ensures progress towards the result in conditions of high technical and organizational complexity.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and updating the project roadmap: four workstreams (replication, processing, storage, access), each with its own phases, dependencies, and owners.
- Decomposing strategic initiatives into specific tasks, controlling timelines and milestones (launch to PROD, completion of pilots, rollout to critical systems); managing risks and escalating blockers before they become critical issues.
- Synchronizing the work of 7+ Bank teams and external participants: coordinating dependencies between streams, conducting regular status meetings, maintaining a unified registry of open issues and decisions.
- Working with client teams to confirm priorities and accept results; establishing communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Organizing and coordinating technical pilots — primarily the PoC for selecting NRT Storage in collaboration with vendors and the B2C team; ensuring pilot results translate into architectural decisions and a rollout plan.
- Preparing weekly project status reports for management: progress, key risks, decisions requiring escalation.
- Participating in Bank working groups, representing the project's position; maintaining project documentation: decision logs, risk and dependency registers, communication plans.
Requirements
- Project management experience of 4+ years, including at least 2 years in complex cross-team projects with a large number of stakeholders.
- Confident proficiency in planning and roadmap visualization tools; ability to manage dependencies between multiple parallel workstreams.
- Experience preparing regular reports for top management and maintaining project documentation.
- Experience in technology projects — ability to grasp the essence of technical solutions, read architectural diagrams, hold substantive discussions with developers and architects.
- Strong communication skills: ability to explain complex concepts simply — to both the technical team and business leadership.
- Skill in structured risk management and escalation.
Will be a plus:
- Understanding of streaming data platform architecture: Kafka, Apache Flink, concepts of stream, topic, lag.
- Familiarity with concepts of Data Platform, Data Mesh, NRT/streaming — sufficient to understand the context of discussions without getting lost in terminology.
- Project management experience in a large bank or fintech.
- Experience coordinating technical pilots and PoCs with subsequent transition to a production solution.
