Senior Product Manager for the Data Platform Team
About the Team
Data Platform is Avito's internal platform that provides everything needed for the full data lifecycle – raw data collection, ETL, data storage and processing. The platform serves all key processes of analytics and DS teams - the Lakehouse based on Trino and Ceph is the key solution for product analytics, Spark and Flink power calculations and ETL processes for ML infrastructure.
We are currently looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager who will help teams shape the Data Platform development strategy.
You will be responsible for:
- Formulating product strategy and vision for long-term development, creating a Roadmap as part of annual and quarterly planning;
- Interacting with users and stakeholders – data engineers, analysts, DS teams: collecting feedback, understanding their tasks and problems, consulting on platform capabilities. Translating the needs of technical users into clear product requirements for platform projects;
- Defining key product metrics and monitoring the achievement of target values;
- Conducting Discovery - monitoring the market and new technologies: researching current trends in Big Data and AI. Initiating the implementation of promising technologies and approaches to increase platform efficiency;
- Managing the platform lifecycle: collecting and prioritizing requirements, maintaining backlogs for projects, planning releases and new features;
- Ensuring service stability and quality: monitoring key metrics (availability, performance), initiating improvements to maintain SLA and user satisfaction.
We expect you to have:
- 3+ years of experience in creating and developing IT (Big Data) products;
- Familiarity with the architecture of distributed data processing systems. Have had experience working with/interacting with Flink, Spark, Trino and other Big Data technologies;
- Experience in building a product metric tree and measuring project effectiveness;
- Understanding of the key stages and aspects of product development (Agile, Scrum);
- Experience working with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence);
- Communication and leadership skills. You will be actively defending and justifying decisions made before key stakeholders.
