Fifth Channel (MITS Izvestia) is looking for a Head of Website Editor.
Fifth Channel is one of the leaders in news broadcasting and a recognized provider of quality series content. Fifth Channel is broadcast 24/7 in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation with an audience exceeding 142.6 million people. The international version of the channel, "Fifth Channel International," also operates.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the current news agenda
- Forming and promptly adjusting the website's news agenda
- Organizing the work of the editorial shift
- Assigning tasks to writers, the managing editor, and the producer
- Controlling deadlines for preparation and publication of materials
- Editing, proofreading, and publishing materials on the website
- Monitoring the quality of texts, headlines, leads, and material structure, considering readability and SEO requirements
- Uploading television broadcasts
- Preparing technical specifications for video editors for news package editing
Requirements:
- Higher education (a degree in journalism or philology will be an advantage)
- At least 1 year of experience in news media in a similar position
- Understanding of the principles of operating a news online publication
- Knowledge of the current political agenda of Russia and foreign countries
- Understanding of the current agenda in show business and cinema
- Confident skills in writing, editing, and publishing news materials
- Experience working with headlines, leads, and text structure
- Ability to quickly navigate large amounts of information
- Skill in working under a continuous news flow and strict deadlines
- Experience coordinating an editorial team will be an advantage
