About the company
Nota Group is a group of companies at the intersection of private banking, neo-banking, and financial infrastructure. We support business and private clients in international settlements, optimization of financial processes, and structuring non-standard solutions in an international environment.
Our key specialization is building and developing effective financial infrastructure for cross-border fund movement. We work with cross-border payments, FX operations, and payment solution architecture.
About the role
We are looking for a Team Lead Cross-Border Payments who will take charge of managing the payments division and a team of specialists in cross-border settlements.
This role combines hands-on expertise in international payments with management skills. You will be responsible for the quality of client transaction execution, the development of payment infrastructure, building internal team processes, and cross-functional interaction with the legal department, accounting, and management.
We are seeking a specialist who not only deeply understands the logic of cross-border payments but also knows how to build team performance: delegate tasks, control quality, develop employees, and scale operational processes.
Key responsibilities
Team Management:
- Leading the Cross-Border Payments Managers team: task assignment, execution control, regular feedback.
- Distributing client transactions among team members, considering workload and competencies.
- Training, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Conducting regular meetings (weekly, daily) on transaction status and operational matters.
- Participating in hiring and onboarding new employees for the payments division.
Operational Management:
- Controlling the quality of client transaction support at all stages – from payment solution design to final execution.
- Resolving complex and escalated payment cases requiring systemic analysis and non-standard solutions.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards, deadlines, and operational execution regulations.
- Monitoring operational risks and handling incidents (delays, routing errors, compliance stops).
Process and Infrastructure Development:
- Building and optimizing internal regulations and processes for the payments division.
- Participating in the development of payment routing approaches, enhancing operational stability, and reducing error rates.
- Cross-functional interaction with the legal department and accounting: creating regulations, synchronizing procedures.
- Implementing and monitoring the team's use of the CRM system: completeness and quality of client tracking.
- Collecting and analyzing team performance metrics (processing speed, conversion rate, errors).
Client and Partner Relations:
- Participating in supporting key and most complex client transactions.
- Building long-term relationships with clients at a senior contact level.
- Interacting with banks, payment providers, and EMIs on operational matters.
Strategic Support:
- Providing regular reports to management on division performance.
- Participating in the development of the company's payment infrastructure: new corridors, jurisdictions, partnerships.
- Forming proposals for team scaling and business process improvement.
Requirements
- Over 4 years of experience in cross-border payments, fintech, payments, banking, or FX, including practical support and execution of international payment transactions.
- Over 1 year of team management experience (team lead, senior specialist, mentor) or readiness to transition to a management role with strong operational expertise.
- Understanding of international payment infrastructure: SWIFT, SEPA, local payment rails, correspondent schemes, interaction with banks and payment providers.
- Experience with complex payment scenarios, understanding the logic of fund movement, and factors influencing settlement speed, cost, and reliability.
- Understanding of AML, KYC, and KYB requirements in a practical operational context.
- Developed analytical skills and structured thinking.
- Strong communication skills: ability to build professional dialogue with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Experience in building and optimizing operational processes.
- Proficiency in Russian and English at B2 level or higher.
Will be an advantage
- Experience managing a distributed team remotely.
- Experience with B2B cross-border payments, treasury operations, and FX.
- Experience implementing CRM systems and automating operational processes.
- Experience interacting with legal and accounting departments.
- Experience in employee development.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a leader who combines deep expertise in international payments with management skills. It is important for us that the candidate:
- Sees a payment task more broadly than a single operation – at the level of solution structure.
- Knows how to build processes and ensure their adherence by the team.
- Is capable of independently analyzing a complex case, as well as developing the team to do so without them.
- Possesses calm confidence and can make balanced decisions in a multi-component operational environment.
What we offer
- Fully remote work format.
- Opportunity to build a payments division and influence the infrastructure of an international fintech company.
- Direct interaction with management.
- A professional environment where systemic thinking, independence, and quality of solutions are valued.
- Competitive remuneration level (fixed + performance-based bonus).
