Reach out directly about this role
‘Making sports better’ is the most accurate definition of our core mission, and it has been consistent for 27 years. We make sports more accessible, understandable, and interesting by creating quality content and distributing it across all possible platforms.
Sports'' is not just a sports news website. It is the leading Russian-language sports media with a multi-million audience, where you can read longreads, news, and blogger posts, follow matches, and be part of the community.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
A big and important part of Sports'' is our advertising special projects.
You’ve probably seen them:
— The ‘Champions League Foundation’ game, for those who want to assemble their team for the Champions League playoffs and compete for cool prizes.
— The ‘AFL Picker’ game, where you need to predict the results of football matches, earn points, and compete with other Sports'' users for the title of chief predictor.
These projects are created by the creative studio ‘Sirena’. We have our own developers, editors, designers, and marketing team – we are a fully autonomous team that can work with any clients.
Now we are looking for a middle project manager who will lead projects from idea to release, be responsible for the quality of implementation, deadlines, and budget.
With us you will be:
— Coordinating the creation of product special projects: estimating and controlling deadlines, writing technical specifications, extensive interaction with developers, designers, editors, and other colleagues. You will review their work, and convey requests and edits from clients.
— Responsible for feature delivery and the overall project progress: monitoring deadlines, expenses, and results.
— Prioritizing tasks, helping creative people deal with complex situations, optimizing processes, and finding effective solutions under limited resources.
— Establishing processes on projects: if you see that interaction is inefficient, suggest and implement improvements.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES
— You can easily communicate with developers, designers, marketers, and other team members in a common language.
— You understand that a manager is responsible for what happens in a project and are ready to take responsibility for the result.
— You enjoy communicating with people, as it is a must in project management.
— You understand that monitoring expenses is crucial. The same applies to deadlines.
— You can work with Jira and Figma at a basic level (create a task, view mockups).
— Immersion in football is important to us, as our projects are dedicated to this sport.
WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURN
Comfort and care:
— We don’t micromanage or control working hours because we trust our people. Therefore, we have a flexible start and end to the workday, which you can determine yourself.
— Hybrid work schedule. We believe in meeting colleagues in person at our Moscow office (near Prospekt Mira/Rizhskaya metro stations), but you can work remotely sometimes.
— Voluntary medical insurance with dental coverage throughout Russia from your first day of work. A personal annual budget for sports activities.
— If you need a vacation, we will always grant it to you. As well as sick leave, which in most cases does not result in a loss of income for us.
— As a pleasant bonus, we have an employee loyalty program with hundreds of different discounts.
Training and development support:
— We have very supportive management that truly invests in their employees. More than half of them have grown within the company, and that is indicative for us.
— We value feedback, so we don’t neglect practices that help us improve: one-to-ones, performance reviews.
— We regularly purchase access to popular conferences for teams so that our guys stay on top of trends.
— We don’t forget about traditional learning either, so we offer compensation for professional courses.
Not just colleagues, but a community:
— We enjoy spending time together not only at work, so we have formed various interest-based communities: a football team, a FIFA fan club, a film club. We love board games, practice random coffee breaks, and simply have calls during the week to chat with colleagues on casual topics.
— In general, we have adequate and genuinely “down-to-earth” people working here. No pretentiousness, snobbery, or showing off. No stuffiness or toxicity.
WHAT THE HIRING PROCESS LOOKS LIKE
We are not fans of formalities and drawn-out processes, and we approach hiring the same way.
You can expect:
— An interview with the potential manager, lasting no more than an hour, where we will discuss your experience and our tasks.
— A final interview with the head of ‘Sirena’ and HR, where we will finally make sure that we are a good fit for each other.
