Temporary Reporter for Forbes Lists
About the Role: Forbes is seeking an experienced temporary reporter to contribute to the creation of the Forbes Accounting Lists. The position reports to the Senior Editor, Accounting.
Task: Assist in research, data processing, and communication with nominated CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) to compile authoritative rankings.
Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel, Google Sheets).
- Experience in database management.
- Research skills (information gathering, verification, analysis).
- Ability to work quickly on multiple projects with diverse stakeholders (editors, analysts, nominees).
- High attention to detail and deadline adherence, excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate with nominated CPAs (written and verbal).
Desirable Skills (will be an advantage)
- Knowledge of analytical and research methods, formulas, survey design, statistical analysis.
- Project management experience.
- Knowledge of the accounting field.
- Journalism experience (media work, fact-checking, writing).
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) — required.

- Ability to build trusting relationships, empathy and tact when communicating with nominees.
- Meticulousness and attention to numerical detail.
Working Conditions
- Format: Fully remote work within the United States.
- Position Type: Temporary, project duration to be discussed during the interview.
