Lead Product Owner (Financial Planning & Analytics Automation)

We are currently looking for a Lead Product Owner for the IBP platform at X5 - the largest initiative for developing end-to-end technological processes for Integrated Business Planning (IBP). This initiative has no peers in the Russian market in terms of scale. It is a cross-functional and cross-format initiative: we are engaged in creating end-to-end processes and unified plans not only within supply chains but also in commerce, finance, operations, marketing, and other functions. In 2026, the initiative consolidated at the X5 level, significantly expanded its scope, and now includes all key streams of the target IBP.
Responsibilities:
- Forming the product vision for the stream, ensuring end-to-end automation of P&L calculations without gaps between operational and financial units
- Automating management cycles - digitalizing budgeting, treasury, and management accounting processes, eliminating manual operations in reporting consolidation and profitability metric calculation
- Driver-based modeling - implementing the driver-based planning methodology, linking operational metrics (demand, prices, costs) with financial results; developing multi-scenario analysis functionality (base case, upside, downside) to assess the impact of initiatives on EBITDA
- Managing profitability initiatives - creating a digital tracker for initiatives with transparent accounting of deadlines, responsible parties, and financial effects broken down by P&L, ensuring the linkage of strategic goals with budgetary limits
- Consolidation and methodology - building a unified data model for consolidating management reporting across all legal entities and segments; standardizing rules for calculating P&L items and automating adjustments (eliminations, netting)
- Agile product development - working as a Product Owner/requirements expert in a cross-functional team (IT + finance), decomposing business requirements into a backlog, prioritizing features based on criteria of reducing time-to-report and improving forecast accuracy
Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience and knowledge in product management/OR experience as an FP&A Director, designing or implementing EPM systems (SAP BPC, SAP IBP, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion, Board, OneStream, Optimacros) OR comprehensive solutions based on Power BI/Excel with planning modules
- Deep understanding of corporate financial management processes: budgeting (OPEX/CAPEX)
- Hands-on experience in building driver-based models linking operational plans (volumes, mix, logistics) with financial results (revenue, cost, EBITDA)
- Expertise in data architecture for financial systems: understanding ETL processes, data marts, hierarchies, and attributes for consolidation; experience integrating EPM with ERP (SAP, 1C, Oracle) and BI tools
- Financial modeling skills: building complex calculation models for P&L, balance sheet, CFS, experience with scenario analysis and sensitivity of metrics to drivers
- Ability to translate complex financial methodologies into technical requirements for IT teams and vice versa
- Stakeholder management skills: interaction with the CFO, controllers, business units to align planning methodologies
- Systematic approach to reducing operational complexity: focus on automating routine operations and increasing the speed of closing management accounting
