«Alpina» is the largest universal independent publishing group in Russia.

The «Alpina» Publishing Group was founded in 1998. It includes the publishing houses «Alpina Publisher», «Alpina non-fiction», «Alpina PRO», «Alpina.Proza», «Alpina.Deti» and the company Alpina Digital, and in 2023, two more publishing houses were opened within the group: «Bel Lеtr» (Belles Lettres) — modern foreign literature for women, Marshmallow Books — Young and New Adult, manga and Asian novels.

We are looking for a proofreader with experience working with large texts for the «Alpina non-fiction» editorial department.

«Alpina non-fiction» is a Russian popular science publishing house that has been releasing books on modern research and achievements in science for over 15 years, popularizing scientific knowledge, educating, and participating in the formation of a critically thinking intellectual environment.

What you will do:

• Perform proofreading, editing, and text verification.
• Eliminate spelling and punctuation errors, identify typos.
• Check text formatting in accordance with the publishing house's internal requirements.

What we expect from the candidate:

• Relevant work experience of 3+ years, experience with large texts.
• Experience in book publishing is a big plus.
• Higher specialized education (philological, linguistic).
• High level of general erudition.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat as an advanced user.
• Ability for meaningful text work.
• Willingness to complete a test assignment at the publishing house office (Moscow).
