Java Developer for Billing at Market

Billing is one of the internal services of Yandex Market that helps businesses calculate the cost of services for our partners, manages payments to partners, couriers, employees of sorting centers and pick-up points, and works on the transparency and provability of calculations.

The number of our partners, the services provided to them, and the collected data are growing rapidly — and the load on the service is increasing simultaneously. Therefore, we are looking for a great Java developer who will strengthen our team and help make our service even better.

• We work with terabytes of data in PG and YT
• Our codebase has minimal legacy, and we are actively fighting the remnants
• We write in Java 17–21 and also in Kotlin
• We are constantly expanding the functionality we support: over the past two years, we have taken over payment management, set-off, logistics billing, and vendor billing
• We work in a distributed format, but there is a stable core team in Moscow and St. Petersburg that regularly visits the offices

About the team

Meet us: we are the Billing team — and we are responsible for all of Market's money. Absolutely all of it. We work at the intersection of Market's finance, accounting, and legal departments — not the easiest place to release new features, but we manage.

What tasks await you

Development and optimization of the core billing calculations You will be engaged in: implementing logic for calculating the cost of new types of services; optimizing the performance of calculations for millions of transactions; developing a system for adjustments and recalculations; integration with data sources (logistics, order processing, analytical systems, etc. — virtually all Market systems become data sources for Billing); ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data; developing mechanisms for verifying calculations, including using LLM.

Development of the pricing system You will maintain and develop the Tariffnitsa — the tariff management system, implement complex tariff models and discounts, and automate tariff update processes.

Support of financial reporting This includes generating transactional logs for accounting systems, preparing data for the partner portal, preparing data and developing tools for financial analysts.
