Head of the Product Owners Guild/Head of PO Guild (relocation to Uzbekistan)
The employer is one of the largest developers and providers of information systems and technological solutions on the market of Uzbekistan.
Key Responsibilities
Product Work Standards:
- Defining and implementing standards: DoR, User Story templates, acceptance criteria, decomposition practices
- Backlog reviews and audits of product practices in teams
- Implementation of tools and metrics for evaluating product work
PO Guild Management:
- Professional growth of POs: feedback, competency matrices, career paths
- Onboarding new POs, training and certification programs
- Facilitating knowledge and practice exchange between POs from different clusters
- Collaborative work with Product Managers on selection, promotion, and lifecycle management of POs
Coaching and Training:
- Training POs in decomposition practices: thin slicing User Stories by value, INVEST, story mapping
- Coaching on backlog work: prioritization, refinement, focus on value, working with sprint goals
- Leading by example in applying product practices
Coordination:
- Coordination of cross-product initiatives involving several POs
- Assisting POs and teams with prioritization and decomposition of epics into User Stories
Candidate Requirements Mandatory:
- 5+ years of experience in the Product Owner role in Scrum teams. Hands-on, not nominal, experience in backlog ownership
- Decomposition practice: ability to thinly slice User Stories by value for fast delivery. Knowledge of INVEST, story mapping, impact mapping
- Experience with product metrics and value-based prioritization (WSJF, MoSCoW, value vs effort, etc.)
- Experience in training and mentoring other POs. Ability to transfer practices, not just execute them personally
- Understanding of Scrum at the practical level: refinement, sprint planning, review, working with sprint goals, DoR/DoD
- Facilitation skills, communication with stakeholders and the team
Will be a plus:
- PSPO certification or equivalent
- Experience in fintech / banking software
- Experience in building product processes from scratch
- Experience working with Redmine / ITSM
- Knowledge of the Uzbek language
Conditions
- Willing to consider candidates from any country if ready to relocate to Tashkent.
- Official employment with state registration, a fixed-term labor contract for 6 months, with possible unlimited renewal for a new term.
- Format - office, after one year hybrid format may be discussed if the work is set up, 5-day work week, own office in Tashkent in the very city center, extended leave of 28 days (standard is 21 days), from 9:00 to 18:00 Tashkent time.
- Salary to a Uzbek card, 2 times per month, in soums. In Uzbekistan, a foreigner working officially can open a visa and buy dollars. Transfers to the Russian Federation in rubles are possible.
