Analyst-Developer in Anti-Fraud for Urban Services

We investigate and prevent fraudulent schemes in Yandex Taxi, Food, Lavka, and Delivery services not only in Russia, but also in 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America where the service operates under the Yango brand. We need an analyst who will help expose complex schemes, develop anti-fraud solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness.

What tasks await you

Fraud Investigation Fraudsters constantly come up with new schemes, and your task is to understand their mechanics, find vulnerabilities, and prevent violations. You will investigate fraudulent schemes in different countries, identify patterns in dishonest behavior, and adapt protection strategies taking into account local specifics. Sometimes you will have to counter already known threats, and sometimes you will have to find ways to combat new unique fraud scenarios. You will be in constant contact with product, quality, and support teams.

Monitoring Systems An effective anti-fraud system requires reliable infrastructure that quickly identifies suspicious activity and blocks abuse. You will improve detection mechanisms, develop algorithms for identifying fraud, and automate decision-making. It is important not only to find fraudulent schemes, but also to create comprehensive protection systems that are resistant to new types of attacks.

Evaluating the Effectiveness of Anti-Fraud Solutions Every anti-fraud solution should help the business by reducing losses from fraud and not interfering with honest users. You will develop metrics and analytics to objectively evaluate the impact of implemented tools. It is important to measure the reduction in fraud levels and consider business effects: how key indicators change, what risks remain, and where protection can be strengthened. Data analysis will help make informed decisions, balancing between security and service convenience for users.

We expect you to

• Have worked as an analyst for more than a year
• Work with SQL and Python
• Know how to work with a large volume of data, search for anomalies and patterns, formulate hypotheses, and confirm or reject them based on data
• Can communicate in written and spoken English with colleagues from international teams
• Are ready to communicate with development, product, and business development managers, and can work with them harmoniously
