At Sber, ensuring the security of clients' funds is one of the top priorities, and for several years the Bank has been successfully tackling all challenges in the field of social engineering. In 2025, fraud amounting to over 368 billion rubles was prevented. To protect its clients, Sber uses a unique fraud monitoring system that detects 99.9% of all fraud attempts.
Responsibilities
- Daily monitoring and analysis of large volumes of transactional data to identify anomalies and fraud patterns.
- Deep investigation of fraud incidents: reconstructing the event chain, analyzing causes and damage.
- Formulating and testing hypotheses about new fraud schemes.
- Writing complex SQL queries to extract, aggregate, and analyze data from various sources (transactions, client profiles, session data).
- Visualizing confirmed hypotheses and identified dependencies.
- Continuous analysis of the effectiveness of existing antifraud system algorithms and proposing specific steps for their improvement.
- Reducing the False Positive Rate without compromising the detection level.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL - complex queries (window functions, subqueries, JOINs) for extracting and aggregating large volumes of data from various sources.
- Experience with Python (libraries: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) for data analysis and building model prototypes. Or R.
- Understanding of the principles of relational DBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Mandatory: Practical experience using language models (such as ChatGPT, GigaChat, DeepSeek, etc.) for solving work tasks (writing code, analyzing text, generating ideas, searching for information).
- Ability not only to find anomalies but also to formulate and then test hypotheses about possible fraud cases.
