IT Product Manager / R&D Manager
We are currently looking for an IT Product Manager / R&D Product Manager – someone who can turn chaos into order, manage multiple projects in parallel, handle the backlog, risks, and dependencies, and bring a product to a production-ready state.
This role is not for those who enjoy "discussing processes." It's for someone who can transform an idea into a clear plan, a plan into manageable development, and development into a real product that enters the US market.
Important: The role involves relocation to Guangzhou, China, but the move occurs after successfully completing the probationary period. The company assists with visas, visa agents, flights, finding accommodation through a realtor, and insurance upon request.
Why this role is special:
- This is a position for someone who thinks like a product manager but is willing to work not only with digital products but also with physical beauty products: formulas, packaging, samples, factories, cost of goods, quality, and timelines.
- It's not just about "assigning a task" or "updating a status." You need to see the entire cycle: from niche research and product hypothesis to samples, tests, documentation, production, and post-launch improvements.
- You will work at the intersection of R&D, project management, product operations, factories, procurement, quality, packaging, and Amazon US.
- If you enjoy systematic approaches, ownership, roadmaps, backlogs, PRDs, decision logs, risk control, and proper product discipline – here, you can apply all of this to a real product that US customers will buy.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for the full product launch cycle: from niche research to launch and post-market improvements.
Research / Discovery
- Analyze the market, competitors, reviews, and trends to identify strong product opportunities.
- Gather product requirements: positioning, target audience, constraints, cost of goods, margin, timelines, risks, and market requirements.
- Formulate a product brief / PRD: what we are launching, why, for whom, what are the success criteria, what are the constraints, and what is the expected outcome.
- Create a product roadmap: stages, timelines, key milestones, dependencies, task owners, and expected artifacts at each stage.
Validation
- Organize work with samples, comparative tests, blind tests, and user feedback.
- Manage checks for product stability, quality, and alignment with market expectations.
- Maintain a change log for the product: what is changing, why it's changing, who made the decision, and how it affects timelines, costs, quality, and the final outcome.
- Help the team stay organized amidst versions, revisions, and "why did we change this in the first place?"
Development
- Manage the backlog for formulation, packaging, components, documentation, samples, tests, and related tasks.
- Manage multiple products simultaneously and maintain pace without sacrificing quality.
- Communicate daily with external partners: chemists, factories, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Go beyond tracking statuses; push, accelerate, remove blockers, document decisions, and bring tasks to completion.
Production Ready
- Bring the product to a production-ready state: final formula, specifications, packaging, components, files, templates, documentation, and a clear data package for downstream teams.
- Control risks, dependencies, quality, critical points, and product readiness for production.
- Prepare a unified information package for procurement, logistics, production, marketing, and other teams to ensure a seamless launch.
Launch / Post-launch
- Monitor product quality after launch.
- Gather feedback, analyze issues, and initiate improvement iterations.
