Cosmetics brand MAREE is looking for an IT Product Manager – someone who can bring order to chaos, manage multiple projects in parallel, handle the backlog, risks, and dependencies, and bring the product to a production-ready state.
This role is not for those who love to “discuss processes.” This is a role for someone who can turn an idea into a clear plan, a plan into manageable development, and development into a real product that will enter the US market. Important: the role involves relocation to Guangzhou, China, but the move happens after successfully passing the probation period. The company assists with visas, a visa agent, flights, finding housing through a realtor, and insurance upon request.
Why this role is special:
- This is a position for someone who thinks like a product manager but is ready to work not only with digital products but also with physical beauty products: formulas, packaging, samples, factories, cost prices, quality, and deadlines.
- It’s important here not just to “assign a task” or “update the status.” You need to see the entire cycle: from market research and product hypothesis to samples, tests, documentation, production, and post-launch improvements.
- You will work at the intersection of R&D, project management, product operations, factories, procurement, quality, packaging, and Amazon US.
- If you enjoy systematism, ownership, roadmaps, backlogs, PRDs, decision logs, risk control, and proper product discipline – you can apply all of this here to a real product that US customers will buy.
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for the full product launch cycle: from market research to launch and post-market improvements:
Research / Discovery:
- Analyze the market, competitors, reviews, trends, and identify strong product opportunities.
- Gather product requirements: positioning, target audience, limitations, cost price, margin, deadlines, risks, and market requirements.
- Develop a product brief / PRD: what we are launching, why, for whom, what are the success criteria, what are the limitations, and what is the expected outcome.
- Create a product roadmap: stages, deadlines, key milestones, dependencies, task owners, and expected artifacts at each stage.
Validation:
- Organize work with samples, comparative tests, blind tests, and user feedback.
- Manage checks for product stability, quality, and compliance with market expectations.
- Maintain a product change log: what is changing, why it is changing, who made the decision, how it affects deadlines, costs, quality, and the final result.
- Help the team stay on track with versions, edits, and understanding “why did we change this at all.”
Development:
- Manage the backlog for formulas, packaging, components, documentation, samples, tests, and related tasks.
- Manage multiple products in parallel and maintain pace without sacrificing quality.
- Communicate daily with external contractors: chemists, factories, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Don’t just track statuses, but push, accelerate, remove blockers, record decisions, and bring tasks to completion.
Production Ready:
- Bring the product to a production-ready state: final formula, specifications, packaging, components, files, templates, documentation, and a clear data package for downstream teams.
- Control risks, dependencies, quality, critical points, and product readiness for production.
- Prepare a unified information package for procurement, logistics, production, marketing, and other teams to ensure a smooth launch.
Launch / Post-launch:
- Monitor product quality after launch.
- Gather feedback, analyze issues, and initiate improvement iterations.
- Work according to the principle: hypothesis → change → test → solution.
- Don’t consider the launch the final point, but view the product as a living system that can and should be improved.
You will be a great fit if you have:
- Experience as a Product Manager / Project Manager / Product Operations Manager / R&D Project Manager.
- Ability to manage 5–10 projects in parallel without losing track of deadlines, details, statuses, and critical dependencies.
- Strong systematic approach: stages, SLAs, input/output control, statuses, artifacts, checklists, recording decisions.
- Confident work with backlog, roadmap, prioritization, risks, dependencies, and product documentation.
- Experience creating or managing artifacts: PRD, product brief, decision log, change log, checklists, statuses, tables, production-ready pack.
- Strong analytical skills and confident work with spreadsheets, data, numbers, and large volumes of information.
- Ability to quickly understand a new domain and break down a complex process into a clear system.
- Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions, rather than waiting for ideal conditions or endless top-down confirmation.
- Ability to communicate with various stakeholders: R&D, procurement, production, factories, contractors, marketing, analytics, operations team.
- Ability to clearly communicate information in writing and orally: structured, concise, without chaos or filler.
It will be a big plus if you have:
- Experience in R&D for cosmetics, beauty, personal care, skincare, haircare, bodycare, or FMCG.
- Experience launching SKUs from scratch.
- Experience working with production facilities in China.
- Understanding of product economics: COGS, margin, cost price, MOQ, impact of changes on price and profitability.
- Understanding of packaging, quality control, testing, certification, and the production cycle.
- Experience with the US market and/or Amazon.
- IT/product management experience that can be applied to physical products: systematic thinking, working with roadmaps, backlogs, metrics, prioritization, and teams.
What we offer:
- Relocation to China after successfully passing the probation period. First, we assess the match in tasks, pace, and expectations, and then we assist with the move to Guangzhou.
- Relocation support at the company's expense: assistance with visas, connecting a visa agent, covering flight costs, helping find housing through a realtor. Insurance can also be organized upon request.
- Comfortable office in Guangzhou: near the metro, panoramic windows, and a capybara garden within a 5-minute walk.
- 5/2 schedule: from 9:00 to 18:00. Format: office / hybrid / site visits to production facilities depending on tasks.
- Stable high salary and clear cooperation terms.
- Onboarding and immersion into the Amazon US market: we will help you understand the brand's product specifics, processes, SKU launch approaches, and market logic.
- Opportunity to see the entire product creation cycle from the inside: from idea and brief to samples, tests, factories, packaging, production, and launch.
- Real influence on the product: you won’t be a “coordinator for coordination’s sake,” but a person who helps the product go from chaos to production readiness.
- A strong international team without excessive bureaucracy: the company values speed, responsibility, common sense, systematism, and people who can deliver results.
