The role is not limited to just management. We need a specialist with deep technical expertise who, if necessary, can step in for line employees, for example, by writing code independently or quickly fixing production bugs.
Core Stack: AWS, K8s, .NET, React, PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Gitlab CI
Responsibilities:
- Lead the company's IT department: Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and Tech Support teams;
- Develop and optimize team and department processes in collaboration with managers and C-level executives: Release Management, QA processes, recovery procedures, fault tolerance, and more;
- Lead certification processes (PCI DSS) and ensure products comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR);
- Manage the operational activities of the IT department in conjunction with department heads: budgeting, team development, mentoring, troubleshooting;
- Actively participate in strategic planning, including roadmaps for multiple products. Collaborate with product, operations, and business teams, ensuring transparency and prioritization of tasks for the business;
- Participate in architectural design: assist teams in building high-load, fault-tolerant services (99.95%+), manage infrastructure costs;
- Write code and fix bugs in critical situations when necessary for the team and company;
- Attend industry events, represent the company's technical vision in external forums and to partners;
- Develop engineering culture within the company, grow strong leads.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Experience as CTO / VP of Engineering / Head of Development / Tech Lead for 3–5 years;
- Ability to speak the business language and build communication with company stakeholders (C-level, directors). Understanding of how products are built from scratch: Product / Project Management, Agile, planning;
- Experience in fintech, payment systems, banking products, or high-load projects;
- Deep technical expertise (Staff+ level) in backend and infrastructure: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse (or similar), API, high-load system design, Kubernetes, CI/CD, information security;
- Basic understanding of the full product development cycle and processes across the entire stack: Frontend, QA, DevOps, SRE;
- Practical experience with fintech standards and regulatory requirements (PCI DSS 2.0 – 4.0, PSD2, GDPR);
- Experience in building and managing teams (development, DevOps, IT support) of 15–20+ people;
- Strong leadership qualities, structured approach, mature communication, ability to establish processes and delegate effectively. Empathy and respect for the team;
- Experience in developing team leads and tech leads;
- Experience in rapid response to P1–P2 incidents, ability to write code and resolve critical business issues;
- Conversational English level – B2–C1 (sufficient for communicating with partners and participating in conferences);
- Experience with multiple independent products within a single AWS environment, followed by decomposition of infrastructure, access, and environments by brand, would be a plus.
