A Tech Lead is a sergeant who connects the strategy headquarters with the development trenches. He sets an example in battle: code reviews are like debriefings, architecture is the terrain map, and mentorship is like training soldiers.
He is part of the commanders' council: discusses engineering approaches with other leads and ensures that the best practices of his project become common standards, rather than remaining local initiatives.
His task is to maintain the pace of attack without losing quality: so that features are taken by landing parties, technical solutions withstand the load, and the codebase remains combat-ready.
Requirements:
- Experience in designing and developing complex backend systems and understanding the full product lifecycle — from idea and architecture to operation and support.
- Deep understanding of the architecture of fault-tolerant and scalable services.
- Experience in making and justifying architectural and technical decisions.
- Skills in working with ETL, external system integrations, data transformation, and transfer.
- Proficiency in .NET or one/several modern backend stacks: Go, Java, Node.js, etc.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes, deployment, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Understanding of modern DevOps practices, engineering culture, and development processes.
- Experience in conducting code reviews and forming requirements for code quality and maintainability.
- Experience in mentoring developers, implementing coding standards, and developing team engineering practices.
- Experience in technical management of developers in various areas and sufficient understanding of the technologies and stacks they use to make architectural decisions, conduct reviews, and coordinate development.
- Ability to clearly explain technical solutions, justify technology choices, and find a balance between development speed, quality, and technical debt.
- Ability to interact with developers, analysts, DevOps engineers, and other technical leads.
Will be a plus:
- Experience in building streaming systems and working with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub.
- Experience with high-load systems and solutions with increased fault tolerance and scaling requirements.
- Understanding of Data Engineering and experience interacting with ML pipelines.
- Practical experience with incidents, conducting post-mortems, and improving engineering processes based on their analysis.
