Backend Developer for the Managed MySQL Team

We provide our clients with a convenient tool for working with MySQL clusters, relieving users of the headache of configuring and maintaining hosts. Our automation can survive various abnormal situations, restoring the cluster state "one second before". Our tech stack: Go, Python 3.x, SaltStack, and cloud infrastructure.

Our databases are mission-critical. They power numerous external customer services and key internal Yandex services: Kinopoisk, Music, Direct, advertising platforms, and other high-load systems that require a reliable OLTP foundation.

What tasks await you

Improving Cluster Resilience Algorithms You will ensure stability across a vast number of hosts with a limited team, improving cluster resilience algorithms: eliminating connectivity losses between hosts, solving problems of extreme host load, and others.

User Support You will engage in user support in non-trivial "we didn't do anything, it broke on its own" scenarios.

What we expect from you

• You code in Go or Python
• You understand the internal architecture of any database and are ready to delve into the nuances of MySQL
• You have administered Unix systems and know how to diagnose problems that arise during operation
