Java Development Team Lead at Market

Yandex Market is a service for online shopping where you can order millions of items from dozens of categories.

Our team develops financial products. A user can purchase an item by paying for it in installments instead of all at once, or apply for a Yandex Pay card through the Market interface. Our direction is developing very dynamically and already constitutes a significant part of the entire Market business.

We are looking for a backend team lead for Java/Kotlin who will help take financial products to the next level. You will be involved in implementing new ideas, experimenting with development approaches, and rolling out new features for a multi-million audience. We have big plans, and perhaps you are exactly the person we need to realize them as soon as possible.

What tasks await you

Development You will be designing the architecture of new solutions, creating and improving features, monitoring service health, and addressing technical debt.

Management You will be planning the team's work in the short and long term, assigning tasks, controlling quality and deadlines, communicating with managers, analysts, designers, testers, developers, conducting regular one-on-one meetings, developing the team, and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the team.

We expect you to

• Have worked in a similar role for at least one year
• Have been involved in backend development with Java or Kotlin for more than five years
• Be ready for rapidly changing conditions
• Know how to design client-server interaction
• Know classical algorithms and data structures
