Team Lead for the Post-Review Compensation Team
HR Tech is the heart of the company's internal services. And our financial tools team is responsible for ensuring employees receive their money on time and without errors.
We work in product teams, planning several major new applications, developing existing ones, and revising some legacy ones. There's no shortage of challenges!
Yandex has many different compensation types, including the familiar performance review bonuses. Calculating them is a complex process. And how do you ensure it's done correctly? Even a single error will result in a person receiving money incorrectly.
Our developers work on exactly these kinds of fintech tasks. We are looking for a strong Team Lead for this direction. You will be responsible for improving existing applications and developing the calculation system.
Development and Design You will develop new web applications in Java and Kotlin or modify existing ones, write automated tests, and, as in any serious team, conduct and participate in code reviews. You will be responsible for architecture: designing databases, structuring service interactions, and timely extracting functions into microservices to avoid creating micro-monoliths. We already have several major roadmaps planned for the next couple of years.
Deployment and Support We work on our products from the inception of an idea to production release. During development, you will decide how many resources your application needs, in which data centers and with which parameters it will be deployed, and how user traffic will reach your backend.
Setting Up Monitoring and Alerts Since most users of our services are experienced engineers, the services must meet high fault-tolerance requirements. Configuring logging, collecting metrics, conducting load testing — all of this is part of our daily work, built in accordance with the best practices of modern development.
Infrastructure, Refactoring, and Technical Analysis We are fundamentally restructuring the architecture of our services, eliminating legacy where possible or isolating it for transition periods. Within this work, you will refactor old applications, bringing them up to modern standards where needed. You will be involved in shaping these standards to build the development process as efficiently as possible.
Yandex offers a wide selection of ready-made products for solving various tasks. You can choose from them or create your own solutions if justified. A significant part of our work is architecture design and technical analysis. We involve developers as early as the task analysis stage. You will work with analysts from the moment an idea arises, proposing your own solutions to problems.
