Team Lead for Compensation Outside of Review
HR Tech is the heart of internal company services. And our financial tools team is responsible for ensuring that employees receive their money on time and correctly.
We work in product teams, plan several new major applications, develop existing ones, and reconsider some of the old ones. There are plenty of challenges!
Yandex has many different users and many different types of compensation. There are compensations within performance reviews, and there are compensations for people who do not go through the review process. Our team is responsible for these very compensations. This is a dynamic fintech environment requiring high precision, reliability, and performance. We are looking for a strong team lead who can confidently develop this important direction.
Development and Design You will develop new web applications in Java and Kotlin or refine existing ones, write autotests, and also, as in any serious team, conduct and undergo code reviews. You will be involved in architecture: designing databases, structuring service interactions, and timely extracting functions into microservices to avoid creating micromonoliths. We already have several major pipelines planned for the next couple of years.
Deployment and Support We work with our products at all stages—from the emergence of an idea to launching into production. During development, you will decide how many resources your application needs, in which data centers and with what parameters it will be deployed, as well as how user traffic will reach your backend.
Setting Up Monitoring and Alerts Most of our service users are experienced engineers, so the services must meet high requirements for fault tolerance. Setting up logging, collecting metrics, conducting load testing—all of this is part of our daily work in accordance with best practices in modern development.
Infrastructure, Refactoring, and Technical Analysis We are currently fundamentally restructuring the architecture of our services, abandoning legacy where possible or isolating it for transitional periods. As part of this work, you will be able to refactor old applications, bring them in line with modern standards where needed, formulating these standards to build the development process as efficiently as possible.
At Yandex, there is a wide selection of ready-made products for solving various tasks. You will be able to choose from them or create your own solutions if justified. A significant part of our work is architecture design and technical analysis. We involve developers at the stage of task analysis. You will work with analysts from the moment an idea arises, proposing your own options for solving tasks.
