Developer for the Compensation Service in the HR Tech Review
HR Tech is the heart of the company's internal services. And our team of financial tools is responsible for ensuring employees get their money on time and correctly.
Yandex has many different compensations. For example, the well-known bonuses based on review results. And they are calculated much more complexly than it might seem. And if we have calculated them — how do we make sure we did everything correctly? This is very important, because even a single mistake means a person who will receive incorrect compensation. And there are quite a lot of types of compensations. Therefore, you will face many full-fledged fintech tasks.
Development and Design You will develop new web applications in Java and Kotlin or modify existing ones, write autotests and, as in any serious team, conduct and participate in code reviews. You will be involved in architecture: designing databases, structuring service interactions, and timely extracting functions into microservices to avoid creating micromonoliths. We already have several major roadmaps planned for the next couple of years.
Deployment and Support We fully manage our products from idea inception to deployment in production. During development, you will decide how many resources your application needs, in which data centers and with what parameters it will be deployed, and how user traffic will reach your backend.
Configuring Monitoring and Alerts Since most of the users of our services are very capable engineers, the services must meet high standards of fault tolerance. Configuring logging, collecting metrics, conducting load testing — all of this is part of our daily work in accordance with the best practices of modern development.
Infrastructure, Refactoring, and Technical Analysis Currently, we are fundamentally restructuring the architecture of our services, abandoning legacy where possible, or isolating it for transition periods. As part of this work, you will be able to refactor old applications, bring them up to modern standards where required, formulating these standards to make the development process as efficient as possible.

You will work with analysts from the moment an idea arises, propose your own solutions to the task — and you will certainly be heard.
