Kotlin Developer at K50

Team K50 automates the creation and management of reports for various advertising systems: Yandex Direct, VK, MyTarget, so our clients can sell more for less. We help other teams at Yandex Advertising to increase development speed and share experience. We are looking for a highly qualified Java or Kotlin developer (with a focus on Kotlin).

What tasks await you

Product and Infrastructure Tasks You will create new and maintain existing modules of several services in Kotlin. We have a number of interesting product projects — new features for users. You will be able to prove yourself in designing, planning, and defending technical solutions.

Migration of Functionality to Kotlin We have several projects for migrating functionality to Kotlin. You will work with experienced colleagues who have already rewritten code from PHP to Kotlin more than once.

Supporting K50 We have built a DWH based on Greenplum, which allows for fast calculations of advertising effectiveness. You will learn how large data warehouses are structured, including ETL processes, real-time processing of "heavy" queries, and database scaling. We plan to strengthen the team to solve tasks for service stabilization, implementation of monitoring systems, and simplification of support processes.

We expect that you

• Have at least three years of writing in Java and Kotlin, excellent knowledge of best practices and pitfalls
• Have an excellent understanding of the structure of the JVM and Java/Kotlin compiler
• Have experience with functional programming, know the principles of KISS, DRY, YAGNI
• Know OOP, SOLID, development patterns
• Have developed scalable applications
• Have worked with relational databases
• Have worked with Unix-like systems
• Learn quickly and are ready to share knowledge and experience with colleagues

Will be a plus

• Have worked with the Spring framework (DI, MVC), understand the principle of operation of build systems Maven, Gradle
• Know version control systems Git, SVN and continuous integration tools CI/CD
• Have built applications with high availability and reliability
• Have developed in Python or PHP or want to learn
