Data Science Team Lead for the Monetization Team

About the Team

The Monetization Efficiency unit is responsible for the DS direction of Avito's monetization and develops technologies (algorithms, mechanisms, ML models) that ensure the effectiveness of monetization tools for Avito and its users.

We are looking for a DS group leader for the team responsible for accounting for the monetization factor in ad ranking. The main platforms for developing promotion mechanics are search and recommendations, but we already have prototypes of methods for more effective promotion on other platforms: on the map and in the shopping cart.

Currently, the team has four DS engineers, and further growth is planned this year.

Examples of Future Tasks:

• lead the team and develop its ML/DS expertise for monetization;

• build processes, hire and develop specialists;

• design new mechanics for optimizing revenue in search results;

• implement cross-category recommendations for advanced listings;

• devise monetization methods for the map and other platforms;

• work closely with product and business, helping to find solutions and prioritize tasks.

It would be great if you:

• have managed DS teams of a comparable scale;

• have worked on tasks in the field of monetization/advertising or in the field of ranking/optimization;

• have a deep understanding of modern approaches to building and operating ML systems;

• know how to combine algorithms, business, and product into working solutions.
