Senior Data Scientist for the Monetization Efficiency Team
The Monetization Efficiency unit has been developing and improving promotion product algorithms for all Avito verticals for several years. Six months ago, the Sales Impulse team was formed within it, and we are now looking for a strong Data Scientist to join it. The team develops algorithms that help sellers use monetization tools more effectively: choose suitable promotion parameters and understand the expected effect from various decisions.
We build models that predict promotion results (for example, the number of leads from purchasing a specific package) and are gradually developing recommendation approaches. They help understand which ads should be promoted first, which promotion products to choose, and with which bids or budgets. Additionally, the team participates in developing ML solutions for the pricing unit, implementing algorithms into pricing and discounts—first at the micro-category level, and prospectively, dynamically and taking into account the specific seller.
We primarily work with classic ML. Production is written in Go, we work with data via Spark in k8s. The team is young, there is almost no legacy, so there is a lot of freedom in choosing solutions and approaches.
We work as a cross-functional product team and develop in sprints.

develop algorithms for pricing promotion products;
develop algorithms for forecasting the effect of applying promotion mechanisms to ads;
assess potential, select suitable offline/online evaluation metrics, and improve the quality of ML models used within the algorithms.
