A major gold mining company is looking for a Director of Placer Gold Mining.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Production Planning and Management:
- Ensure the execution of approved plans for mining, overburden removal, and washing
- Develop and implement seasonal production programs, timely preparation for peak loads
- Coordinate the work of all sections: mining preparation, extraction, transport, washing
Personnel Management:
- Manage a team of up to 1200 people (including seasonal personnel)
- Distribute responsibilities, control discipline, assess the performance of section managers and foremen
- In conjunction with the HR department – ensure personnel recruitment, training, and placement for the season
Equipment and Resource Management:
- Monitor the technical condition and utilization of mining equipment (bulldozers, excavators, loaders, washing plants)
- Plan repairs and maintenance, minimize downtime
- Control the consumption of fuel and lubricants, spare parts, and materials
Industrial Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with industrial, fire, and environmental safety requirements
- Control technological discipline and compliance with design documentation
- Interact with supervisory authorities
Economics and Reporting:
- Participate in the formation of the unit's budget, cost control
- Prepare regular reports for company management on production progress and key performance indicators
Requirements:
- Industry experience – mandatory: at least 5 years of experience in placer deposits
- Management experience: at least 5 years in positions such as General Manager, Chief Engineer, Production Director, or equivalent
- Management scale: proven experience managing a team of comparable size (from several hundred people)
- Education: higher technical education (mining, geology, engineering)
- Specific knowledge: full cycle of placer mining – from overburden removal to washing and recovery
- Personal qualities: readiness to take responsibility, ability to work under conditions of seasonal intensity, leadership qualities
