Vertikali is a business unit of Yandex. It includes several major products united by a common vector — developing classifieds (bulletin boards) in important areas of life. Internally, we have created a Scala development bootcamp that will help you choose a suitable team at the start.

Within this program, you will work with two or three different teams from the unit to better understand their processes and development approaches, and will land in the one that suits you.

Which teams are part of the bootcamp? * Auto.ru — we make the car buying and selling industry convenient, transparent, and safe. Main streams you can be involved in: the product itself, Search, Reports, Monetization, UGC, as well as the block for B2B users. * The devtools team creates tools for Scala development. These tools speed up the work of hundreds of Scala developers daily and bring them joy in programming. * The common components stream deals with the product infrastructure of Vertikali. Tasks are often at the intersection of infrastructure and product. The clients are both end-users and colleagues from product services. Here you can "get your hands on" the internal message broker, user content platform, abstract internal content storage systems, notification services, billing, and much more.

Our tech stack: * We primarily write in Scala (mainly ZIO) * We use Docker for containerization, and use PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, ClickHouse, YDB, Logbroker, YT * Simple deployment via UI to the internal cloud, convenient interfaces for working with logs and traces

What tasks await you

Scala Development We conduct testing and release to production for millions of real users, as well as maintain service performance and operability: prevent and resolve issues in production. We find the optimal balance between the speed of product changes now and the complexity of system development in the future.

Architecture Design, Participating in and Conducting Design Reviews We broaden employees' horizons, prevent "reinventing the wheel," and ensure project architecture documentation.

We expect that you

• Are familiar with Scala through commercial development experience or are ready to switch from another language
• Are ready not just to write code, but to take responsibility for the entire product development lifecycle
• Can constructively discuss colleagues' solutions and present your own ideas for general discussion
• Learn new things quickly, are open to mastering new technologies and approaches, including Scala and other tools we use
