Electrical Equipment Design Engineer for Autonomous Vehicle Team

Yandex aims to make people's movement safer, more accessible, and more convenient. We want to be among the first in the world to create autonomous vehicle technology and are assembling a team of like-minded professionals. We are looking for an engineer who will be responsible for connecting new electrical equipment—sensors and computing modules—to autonomous vehicle prototypes.

What tasks await you

Design and Development You will create and improve the vehicle's onboard electrical system in accordance with international standards and based on modern components. Analyze incoming design documentation. Participate in the development of new devices together with employees from related departments within your areas of competence. Select components considering functionality, procurement challenges, and price.

Documentation Preparation You will develop and release a complete set of design documentation for the production of wiring harness products for autonomous vehicles in accordance with ESKD, ISO. Identify weaknesses, refine and optimize wiring harness products. Promptly adjust documentation and manage engineering changes.

Production Support It will be necessary to provide technical support for production, participate in equipment installation supervision, promptly implement changes based on prototype assembly results, and interact with contractors.

We expect that you

• Have an excellent knowledge of vehicle design, especially electrical equipment
• Can read electrical diagrams
• Have developed automotive onboard electrical networks
• Have participated in wiring harness product testing and analyzed the results
• Have interacted with production departments and component suppliers, as well as product quality compliance teams
• Know the modern range of automotive connectors and components
• Have worked with high-frequency cables and connectors

It will be a plus if you

• Have manufactured cable products
• Know the entire process of launching serial production of cable products
• Have developed wiring harness products for commercial vehicles
• Have developed technical instructions
• Have worked with CAD systems Capital, E3.series, SolidWorks, NX, and have experience with PDM and PLM systems
