Team Lead of the Product Design Group for Autonomous Transport

We are the design team of Yandex Autonomous Transport. We are looking for a team lead for the product design group. You will develop the design language of our digital products and improve the user experience of Autonomous Transport — from internal interfaces and operator panels to user scenarios and ecosystem products.

It's important to see the task not only within the framework of a separate screen or feature, but also in the context of the user journey, technological constraints, product strategy, and scaling of design solutions. You will argue for your decisions, find common ground with product managers, developers, and researchers, and advocate for the design approach.

Our products are complex and non-standard — they are at the intersection of autonomous technologies, digital interfaces, and the real world. Therefore, it is important for us that you can work with uncertainty, build processes, and combine disparate solutions into a holistic system.

What tasks await you

Development of the Design Language You will develop the design language of Autonomous Transport's digital products, form principles and patterns of interface solutions, and ensure the integrity of the user experience across products and platforms. It's important to maintain visual consistency and interaction logic so that the design scales, remains understandable, and improves the user experience.

Solution Design You will lead complex product tasks: design scenarios and user flows, find optimal UX solutions, assemble interfaces, and bring them to implementation together with development. We expect active participation, attention to detail, accuracy in UI, and the ability to turn abstract requirements into a working product.

Development of Design and the Team You will be responsible for the quality of design in the team, form common principles, build career tracks for designers' growth, conduct design reviews, and much more.

We expect that you

• Have worked as a team lead or senior product designer
• Have designed complex, multi-step user scenarios
• Have created and developed design systems
• Are proficient in Figma (Components, Auto Layout, Variants, Tokens)
• Design interfaces independently: from concept to production
• Understand the product approach (goals, metrics, hypotheses, constraints)
• Can argue design decisions in a language understandable to different teams
• Are able to build constructive dialogue and accept criticism
• Know how to conduct reviews and give feedback to designers, contributing to their development
• Maintain a balance between aesthetics, functionality, and scalability

It will be a plus

• Have worked with transport, infrastructure, B2B, or hardware-adjacent products
• Participated in R&D projects
• Understand the constraints of autonomous systems and real-world scenarios
• Have experience working in large product teams
