Lead Designer at Telemost

Telemost is an innovative video conferencing and online meeting platform that enables easy and efficient remote communication from all types of devices. Telemost is part of the Yandex 360 ecosystem and is closely integrated with Yandex Calendar, Mail, Disk, and Messenger — together they form a seamless and intuitive user journey. Available in browser and applications, it requires no installation and works reliably even with a weak internet connection.

Telemost is used by thousands of organizations — from corporations to schools, and every design decision here scales to a live audience. We are looking for a designer ready to take responsibility for the user experience of a highly visible product, build systematic work with the team, and influence product decisions at the level of the entire Yandex 360 platform.

What tasks await you

Design Leadership You will take a leading role in tasks: help other designers formulate solutions, establish a unified approach in the product, and maintain quality at the team level. This is not people management, but you will be the focal point — in discussions, prioritizations, design processes, and interaction with the product part.

Cross-platform Telemost works in the browser, in mobile and desktop applications. You will need to think about the consistency and behavior of the interface in different environments, including situations with unstable connections, a large number of participants, and limited device capabilities.

Working with the team You will interact with a cross-functional team: product managers, developers, analysts, and researchers. Together you will formulate tasks, test hypotheses, and find compromises between speed, quality, and impact on metrics.

Working with the design system You will need to use and develop design system components: adapt them to the needs of Telemost, propose new patterns, and embed them into the product logic. It is important to be able to think within the system, but not lose flexibility in solutions.

We expect that you

• Have worked in product design, led tasks from idea to launch, analyzed results
• Have end-to-end cases in your portfolio: from setting the task and describing constraints to presenting the solution, where your contribution, line of reasoning is visible, and results are recorded in metrics
• Are able to understand complex technical systems, find solutions at the intersection of user scenarios, business goals, and technical constraints
• Work with a design system, find a balance between reusing components and searching for new patterns
• Have taste and systematicity (strong typography, composition, attention to detail)

It will be a plus

• Have worked with services related to media content — video, audio, streaming
• Have tried yourself in the role of a team lead or mentored designers: developed others, planned tasks, helped them grow, and made decisions for a small team
• Design animations that improve the perception of interface logic and its response to user actions
