Yandex Zabota** insurance service is looking for a strong Product Lead Designer who wants a large area of responsibility: a lot of autonomy, complex hands-on tasks, and the opportunity to build their own team.
Yandex Zabota makes insurance simple, convenient, and truly caring. The first product was launched in 2025, and today, over 100,000 policies are issued daily. They are integrated into major Yandex projects: return guarantee in Yandex Afisha, insurance in Market, CASCO on Maps, OSAGO for one day in Taxi — and this is just the beginning. Insurance is inherently complex: legal restrictions, terms, and exclusions that people really don't want to deal with. The team wants to learn to turn this complexity into simple and understandable products — and ultimately change the very attitude towards insurance, making it a natural part of everyday life.
What tasks await you:
- Developing Zabota products: together with the team, you will need to come up with new ways to interact with insurance — from integrations into various services to Zabota's own product. The scenarios are increasing. They exist in different parts of the ecosystem and outside of it, and currently insurance is often quite complex. Somewhere you'll need to design new things, somewhere — to significantly simplify existing ones, and sometimes to propose a simpler approach to the task yourself. At the same time, it's important to keep everything together: collect common patterns and principles so that Zabota remains recognizable, understandable, and consistent in interfaces regardless of the entry point.
- Building an effective design function: you will need to set up processes so that a small team can do an unexpectedly large amount of good work. Not by increasing the volume with your own hands, but by finding leverage: systemic solutions, components, templates, outsourcing, AI, and new ways of organizing work. You will constantly need to look for opportunities for acceleration and automation and think about what can be changed now to solve the next similar task faster and better.
- Direct work with clients and stakeholders: you will independently find common ground with Zabota managers, product managers, developers, and teams from other services. In addition, you will need to participate in product discussions, offer your ideas, clearly explain and justify them, and also bring them to completion together.

- Independently managed complex product tasks — from conception to launch
- Are a strong product designer who already wants their own area of responsibility: to continue working hands-on, but at the same time set the direction and gradually build a small team around you
- Can explain your thought process and engage others with your idea
- Able to defend your position, but ready to change it under the influence of new data and strong arguments
- Actively use AI in your work and constantly seek new ways to apply it to your tasks
- Love to simplify complexity
- Possess taste, maintain a high visual standard, and know how to create modern design with attention to detail
- Get energized by projects with a high degree of uncertainty
- Want a lot of autonomy and influence, but do not aim to become a manager of a large team
