Mining and metallurgical company Mechel is looking for Deputy Chief Accountant (International Division).
Main Responsibilities:
- Control and recording of purchases of goods and services, advance reports, cash and bank operations in the accounting system (1C equivalent)
- Verification of primary documents, invoices, and contracts for correctness of accounting and document flow
- Control of correct document preparation and presence of necessary approvals
- Maintenance and control of the Accounts Payable section
- Control of payment terms for suppliers and the status of accounts payable
- Recording and control of bank operations, bank fees, and other financial operations
- Execution and control of reconciliations with suppliers and banks
- Control and analysis of open balances in accounting accounts, identification and elimination of discrepancies
- Preparation of reconciliation statements, balance confirmations, and other accounting documentation
- Interaction with suppliers, banks, internal departments, and counterparties on matters of documents, payments, and discrepancies
- Preparation and analysis of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement
- Participation in audits and interaction with auditors on accounting matters
- Conducting business correspondence and working interaction with foreign counterparties in English
Requirements:
- Higher professional education in accounting, finance, or economics
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting, including as a Deputy Chief Accountant or an Accountant with expanded responsibility
- Practical experience in managing the Accounts Payable section
- Experience in recording purchases, bank, and cash operations in an accounting system
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and document flow
- Experience in preparing and analyzing accounting statements, including Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement
- Experience in conducting reconciliations with suppliers and banks, analyzing and resolving discrepancies
- Experience interacting with auditors and preparing documents for audits
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience with 1C, SAP, or other ERP systems
- English language proficiency — at least Intermediate (B1): business correspondence, working with invoices, contracts, bank documents, and interaction with foreign counterparties
- Attention to detail, responsibility, adherence to deadlines, and ability to work with a large volume of information
- Willingness to work in an international environment and interact with colleagues and counterparties from different countries
Will be an advantage:
- Experience working in an international company
- Experience with accounting for companies in the UAE or other jurisdictions
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Experience in preparing reports for foreign companies and owners
- Experience in automating accounting processes and working with ERP systems
Conditions:
- Official employment under the Labor Code of the Russian Federation
- Work schedule: five-day work week from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM (optionally 8 AM to 5 PM)
