Our team is responsible for the development and evolution of the distributed tracing system within the observability platform. Our system is used everywhere in Yandex and Yandex Cloud: it helps engineers analyze performance, identify incidents, and understand the behavior of complex distributed systems. This is a critically important and high-load infrastructure, through which billions of traces from hundreds of microservices pass daily. The reliability and performance of our solution directly affect the stability of Yandex's key services. Tracing in numbers:

• 20 GB/s write stream
• Billions of traces per day
• Data processing cluster: 600 containers, 3600 CPU, 9 TB RAM
• 5 PB storage in ClickHouse
